The Danes are extraordinarily happy with their royal heritage and appreciate the traditions they continue to add to their modern lifestyle. Thus one of our initial stops is a palace the Danish royalty calls home, the Amalienborg Castle. Nearby, we are going to also pay a visit to fairy-tale born little mermaid, a local symbol for over one-hundred years already.

We will then continue with such celebrated highlights, as the spirited venue of Tivoli Gardens next door to the government building square, placed in the center of Danish capital. Encircled by a medley of inviting pedestrian streets and charming secret alleyways, we are going to make our way towards Christiansborg Palace. The sole building in the world that houses all 3 of a country’s branches of government– the Parliament, Prime Ministers Offices and Supreme Court.

All this is placed conveniently for us on a small islet just off the main street of the town within a walking distance. However, there's also a softer side to this center of power- the absolute delight of walking the identical stairs and halls as the Queen´s guests once invited to The Royal Reception Rooms. The great Hall itself has a noble, yet an inviting atmosphere self-praise the Queen´s Tapestries. The series that took over a decade to be competed in Paris, recounts the steps from the Viking era through middle ages into the future of the world’s oldest monarchy.

Leaving behind the spectacular palace ensemble, we are going to experience the active atmosphere of old city once again. From here, we arrive on the open public sq. of Kongens Nytorv. Stretching all the way until the Royal Danish Theatre, is the amusement district designed around the seventeenth century canals of Nyhavn. known also as “The New Harbor”, the popular area these days boasts countless cafés and the stunning decor of archaic boats lining the canal. The inner city filled with brassy sailors has reinvented itself as a striking heritage harbor adored by locals and first-time guests alike.

We will also reserve some free time for individual exploring and a high-quality tea break in the itinerary to give you a gratifying experience of the city of Danish capital before heading back to the cruise harbor or your hotel.
